Mission and Objectives

The Czech Society for Operations Research has the following mission and objectives:

  1. To support the development of operations research as a scientific field. For this purpose, the Society organizes meetings, conferences, and seminars and creates a space for the publication of the results of scientific and application activities in the field of operations research.
  2. To support educational activities focused on the field of operations research. For this purpose, the Society organizes lectures and seminars intended for managers from the spheres of industry, trade, and agriculture and for employees of central management institutions and education, with the aim of informing these employees about the possibilities of operations research applications in the areas of their professional activity. It provides consultancy on the possibilities of obtaining a qualification in the field of operations research and monitors the level of operations research teaching in public and private institutions. The Society ensures the standardization of operations research terminology in the Czech language.
  3. To expand useful applications of operations research.
  4. To organize and coordinate cooperation with partner societies of a similar type in the Czech Republic and abroad. Within its budget, it contributes to the participation of its members in foreign professional conferences and organizes stays of foreign experts in the field of operations research in the Czech Republic.
